The Arts Council of Livingston Fall Show at the Municipal Building
The Arts Council of Livingston is proud to present PRESENT MOMENT, works by Judy Gould, a visual artist who works in printmaking, collage and mixed media since retiring from a career as a lawyer. Judy has exhibited at venues including the Bristol (R.I.) Art Museum, Montclair Art Museum, Newark Public Library, Montclair State University, and the Monmouth Museum. Her awards have included a prize from the Gaelen Juried Art Show and Sale. She is currently teaching an adult collage class at the Montclair Art Museum. She has works in private collections throughout the country.
Judy was exposed to textiles at an early age through her family’s fabric store. She is drawn to varieties of colors, patterns and textures and is inspired to explore juxtapositions and repetitions of color, line and shape. In exploring the tension of opposites, harmonies and repetition, Ms. Gould uncovers and makes space for depth, an inner congruency, and/or conversation among the elements. She relies on intuition, experimentation and the spirit of play to surprise and delight the viewer. The process is one of risk taking, discovery and growth.

The public is invited to view Present Moment and meet the artist at a reception on Tuesday, September 17th from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
